Friends, there's an age old controversy, between those who are mentally ill, and those who are demon possessed, and then there are questions, can a Christian be demon possessed, can a Christian be demon influenced; can a Christian be rendered temporarily insane? Are Christians immune from psychological disorders; is it wrong for a Christian to seek psychological help? These are just a few questions, that have stirred no small controversy within the Christian community for years, and I can assure you that all of the standard, pat answers to these profound questions are not only wrong, but dangerous and unscriptural. Simplistic yes and no answers to profound questions dealing with mental illness or demon possession should be examined very carefully and in light of the Word of God and much prayer for God only knows how many people even Christians with deep emotional and psychological that were pronounced healed by the likes of Benny Hinn and other flimflam demigods, only to end up in a psychological ward at the state hospital, or even dead. I've often wondered why these fake faith healers won't have those healed of various disorders give testimony five or ten years later. I think the answer is quite obvious, many of them are dead, and many of them, it would be too embarrassing for the host. The fact of the matter is freedom of religion, is a wonderful noble constitutional concept and ideal, but at the same time, it has given birth to some of the most demonic religious scoundrels, to ever walk God's terra-firm. Does the names Jim Jones, David Koresh, Father Divine, Reverend Sun Myung Moon, ring a bell, and how about the hundreds, maybe thousands of Catholic Priest, who with the knowledge of their bishops and cardinals violates God only knows how many children, doing untold spiritual and emotional and psychological damage, and in many cases irreversible.
