Friends, hell is a real place, where real people are. Satan is the author of confusion and gimmickry. Why do you think people make fun of hell, or use it in cursing, swearing, jokes, cartoons, and movies? No one makes light of heaven, especially at the time of death. But the worst of the worst among scoundrels expect to somehow, someway, to muddle into heaven no matter how they've lived. I recall some time ago attending a funeral of a drug dealer, and the minister found a way to appease the family and friends by lying concerning this drug dealer and where he was. Now listen, no minister, no minister with half a brain, would at a time like this place this man in hell, even though he's there, but he wouldn't say it, he doesn't need to. It's totally insensitive and unethical.
First of all whether its a lost dealer or a lost church member one thing is clear at the time of a funeral, whether the person is saint or sinner the preaching of the Gospel is paramount understanding this, that there's nothing you can do for the deceased but there's certainly something you can do for the family for the friends, and that is if you are a true servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, and there are fewer and fewer servants of the Lord Jesus Christ today, the one thing that is critical at a funeral as it is on Sunday morning, and that is the preaching of the unadulterated Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ which should include the reality of heaven for the saved, and the reality of hell for the lost and let the chips fall where they may. How ever, the problem that we're facing today is that at most funerals, hell is not mentioned, the Gospel is not preached, and therefore people are being grossly deceived. |
