Detroit Pregnancy Center is a Christian outreach ministry dedicated to helping individuals and families with unplanned pregnancies by encouraging premarital abstinence, promoting abortion alternatives, and post- abortion counseling .

In the Black community, 14 million babies have been aborted since 1973. A black baby is three times more likely to be murdered in the womb than a white baby. In Wayne County in 2007, there were 8,420 abortions performed, and 5,568 of that number were performed in the City of Detroit alone. That means 107 black babies were aborted every week. Everyday all over the United States, 3,000 babies are aborted.

Detroit Pregnancy Center believes in the Biblical view of sanctity of human life. Human life has absolute value which is based on the fact that God created man in His own image (Gen. 1:26-27).

We also believe in the sanctity of pre-born human life based on Psalm 139:13-16 where David acknowledges that God knit him together in his mother’s womb and Job 10:8-12 where Job speaks of God being intimately involved in his life from the time he was conceived, and based on Luke 1:39-44 where the first celebration of the coming Messiah was initiated by John the Baptist while he was still an unborn child in his mother’s womb. Our goal is to preserve life in the womb.

Our services include:
• Free pregnancy testing and counseling
• Abstinence education
• Material assistance for mothers and babies
• Referral network for housing, food, etc.

Our needs include:
• Prayer
• Consistent funding by churches
• Counselors
• Volunteers for miscellaneous work in the center
• Diapers – Newborn to Size 5
• Baby clothing and baby wipes
